- Your age shall be 18 to 30 years
- If you belong to a backward class, you will get age relaxations.
- You shall be 110th + Apprenticeship or 10th + ITI qualified
- You need to be mentally or physically fit.

Requisite educational qualification for Railway jobs in Level-1
The one time exemption granted by Indian Railways in Employment Notice no. 02/2018 and RRC-01/2019 issued by Railway Recruitment Board in February 2018 and March 2019 respectively was only special dispensation for those recruitment drives and same has now been withdrawn.
The minimum educational qualification for all future recruitments to be notified after 15.06.2019 in Level-1 of the pay matrix in technical departments (i.e., Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Signal & Telecom departments) and Catering wing of Railways will be 10th pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by National Council for Vocational Training OR 10th pass plus ITI.
