Eligibility Criteria
Lascar
- Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized board.
- 03 years experience in service on ship or craft.
- Age Limit: 18-30 Years
Civilian Motor Transport Driver (OG)
- Candidates should have 10th standard pass.
- Must possess valid driving license for both heavy and light motor vehicles.
- At least 02 years experience in driving motor vehicles.
- Knowledge of motor mechanism.
- Should be able to remove minor defects in vehicles.
- Age Limit: 18-27 Years
MT Fitter
- Matriculation pass from recognized boards.
- 02 Years experience in any automobile workshop.
- Age Limit: 18-27 Years
Rigger
- Matriculation from recognized boards.
- Should have successfully completed apprenticeship or ITI or 04 Years experience in relevant trade.
- Age Limit: 18-27 Years
Sarang Lascar
- Matriculation pass or its equivalent from recognized boards.
- Certificate of competency as Sarang from a government recognized institute or equivalent.
- Age Limit: 18 to 30 years
Draughtsman
- Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical or Marin Engg. or Naval Architecture and ship construction.

Scrutiny of Application
We will thoroughly assess all candidates’ applications to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and include all required documents. Those who fulfill these criteria will receive admit cards, signalling their advancement to the next stages: document verification and the written examination.
Verification of Documents
Shortlisted candidates will need to undergo a document verification process prior to taking the written examination. It’s crucial that candidates bring their original documents along with self-attested photocopies (two sets), following the guidelines specified in their admit cards.
Written Test
Shortlisted candidates will partake in a written examination aligned with the educational prerequisites for the position. This written exam will be conducted using pen and paper, with a duration of one hour. The question paper will be available in both English and another language, featuring 80 objective-type questions. Each correct answer will earn one mark, without any penalties for incorrect responses.
Gandhinagar Coast Guard Exam Syllabus
The written examination will encompass the following subjects:
1. General Knowledge
2. Mathematics
3. General English
4. Questions relevant to the specific trade
Trade Test (if applicable)
To qualify the written examination, candidates must attain a minimum of 50% marks. However, for SC and ST candidates, the requisite marks are set at 45%. Yet, no relaxation in qualifying marks is extended to OBC and EWS candidates. Those who successfully clear the written exam might be shortlisted for a trade test if pertinent to the position they applied for.
Preparation of Merit List
The merit list will be formulated solely based on candidates’ performance in the written examination. Their marks from the written exam will determine their placement on the list. This merit list, accompanied by any essential instructions, will be accessible on the official website of the Indian Coast Guard.

- Two additional recent passport size Photographs.
- One self addressed envelope with Rs 50/- postage stamp.
- Attach other necessary documents with the application form.
General Conditions & Instructions
Interested candidates should send their applications as per format attached and properly sealed in an envelope to subscribe the words “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ________” AGAINST CATEGORY “_____” on the top of envelope.
- Fill all the columns of the application yourself, In plain and Capital letters.
- The application can be filled by the candidates either in English or Hindi.
- Separate application for each post should be applied. One candidate shall apply only one application.
- The date of written test / skill or trade test/ Interview (as applicable) will be intimated to eligible candidates separately.
- No cutting or over harvesting in the Coast Guard Gandhinagar application form.
- Incomplete, incorrect, wrongly filled, over writing, without signature, without photograph Coast Guard Gandhinagar application will be rejected.
